Transition and Change-Pt 2

Candy's Photo 2We want a path that would not be opposed to our life. We want to attain a plentitude without denying life’s marvelous effervescence; we want a light and moving joy that would bring us to a larger, more all encompassing experience of reality. —Daniel Odier, Author, Poet

Dear Heart  love.pngFriends,

If transitioning through ever changing life experiences with more ease, grace and balance are concerns of yours and/or you know of others who would value the insights this series intends to offer, then I invite you to take a moment NOW to share this link and suggest they check it out:

Although, they are often disguised as crisis, many of us have found that the changes and challenges we experience in life, offer the gift/treasure of an ever evolving path of growth and expansion. I know…when you’re struggling in the middle of a challenge you don’t want to hear anything about a gift or treasure. You just want it to be over.  bc75f745cd010169020c606df83f78b1And yet, how often have you heard someone say, or you may have said,  “I don’t want to go through that situation again, but my life was transformed because of it, and  I wouldn’t want to change a thing.” Because our energy is so focused on the “problem we often only see in retrospect the gift/treasure gleaned from the experience.

I invite you to consider that the impulse of benevolent Spirit is always nudging to express in and through you, and that your deep heart-felt desires are the impulses of Spirit within. If you accept that God, Infinite Intelligence, Universe, or whatever name you call your Higher Power, desires your greater good, then also consider that the process of growth, rather than the destination of goals,  is the path to the fulfillment that we seek.  (To be explored in the next post)

Let’s just acknowledge that when faced with change your initial and valid response may be anger, sadness, frustration or even depression, and there will be times when you won’t feel like respondingin positive ways. angerIn fact,  you may want to curl up in a fetal position with your head covered and your electric blanket turned up to ten, and that’s O.K. too. And yet, as we go/grow we begin to learn that our response to change is what is most important to our well-being. So that when you are ready, you will want to choose responses that move you more toward what you want, then what you don’t want.

Don't Worry
Don’t Worry

In case you’re wondering, is it necessary to go through traumatic experiences in order to live an awakened life. Let me just say that while the spiritual path is not a paint by numbers journey, having active spiritual practices allow you to move through life changes with less stress and more ease and grace. We all do the best we can given what we know. When what we know no longer serves us, we can choose to release the known in order to expand and express more of our heart/soul’s longing..

The in-between time where life is not what it was and it is not yet what it will become may feel like a desert and a waste, but using it as a time for rest and renewal will allow you the opportunity to gain perspective followed by inspired action leading to a more fulfilled life.

7 Practices That Help You Make and Master Change and Transition

The Golden Key
The Golden Key

It is vital to have spiritual practices. Waiting until a crisis to invoke a spiritual practice is not as effective as having in place regular rituals that support and nourish your mind, soul and body.

Examples ( To be expanded on in future posts): Mantras; Journaling; Affirmations; Prayer/Meditation/Contemplation; Movement such as Yoga; mindful walking; Gratitude and Lovingkindness Meditation; Hay’s Mirror Work of saying,”I Love You” to your reflection; Julia Cameron’s Artist Way exercise of writing Morning Pages; Connection to a likeminded community; Service; Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love, uses connecting and serving her women followers on social media as soul nourishment, etc.

There are infinite variety of practices available that will serve you. Listen to your inner being, choose or create mindful practices. The key is regular mindful practices will develop into sacred rituals that connect you more deeply to your soul’s longing.

Accept that change and transitions are inevitable. When something you want isn’t happening as fast as you wish, acceptance is the gesture of surrender that unleashes your real power.

Acceptance of Change
Acceptance of Change

Affirm that your life is unfolding in Divine timing. All delays are beneficial. Declare that “I’m always at the right place at the right time.”

Own your deep desires. A goal is a place to come from, not get to. In other words envision and declare your desire/dream as already accomplished. ( Will dig deeper next posts) “…You can pray for anything, and if you believe that you have received it, it will be yours.”  -Mark 11:24  (New Living Translation)

Release What is no longer serving you. Spiritual growth is not adding on, it is more about letting go of the energetic blocks and allowing the energetic inflow of your greater good to be expressed. img_1098Tina Turner, rock star, from her experience in an abusive relationship adds, “Sometimes you have to let everything go – purge yourself. If you are unhappy with anything – whatever is bringing you down- get rid of it. Because you will find that when you are free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.”

Change your focus and perspective. As Tony Robbins, motivational speaker asserts, “If you gonna make a change, you’re gonna have to operate from a new belief that says life happens not to me but for me.” As you move toward your goals and dreams, come from the awareness that your deep desire is Gods Spirit pulsating within you desiring to express through you as you. “That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him [It]  the most pleasure.”  Philippians 2:13  (Message Bible)

Break the transition into smaller pieces so you may deal with them better. Nudge your thoughts and feelings toward what you deeply desire. Look, listen and act from inspiration“And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time.” – Libba Bray

Don’t lose heart. Look within for the gift/treasure.treasure What can you learn from this circumstance? How can you go and grow through it? Hold the consciousness that the Presence and transcendent Power that is God is within you, desiring to express through you, as you. “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the transcendence of the power may be of God and not of us.”
(2 Corinthians 4:7 NKJV)
